Health Promotion Activities

Wellness is ageless and means much more than the absence of sickness. It is a way of living that emphasizes preventative measures such as eating healthy foods, making exercise an enjoyable part of your life, and making self-care decisions that will actually improve the quality of your life.

Each year hundreds of thousands of Americans die prematurely as a result of diseases that are often preventable and or curable if caught early enough.

The Northeast Nebraska Area Agency on Aging goal through the Health Promotion Program is to provide health education and services that promotes health, wellness and disease prevention to persons age 60 or older in our 22 counties. The Area Agency works with various health professionals to provide health screens and tests. The screens and tests are provided on a suggested contribution basis to anyone 60 years of age or older and/or their spouse.
