In-Home Chore Grant Program

The In-Home Chore Program enables frail older adults to maintain their homes by assisting with regular housekeeping and chores.

Description of service

The In-Home Chore program provides funding for light housekeeping tasks for individuals 60 and older who are having difficulty maintaining their own home or apartment due to physical or mental disabilities whether long term or short term.

Goal

To enable individuals 60 and over to maintain their own home and remain independent by assisting with housekeeping tasks they may no longer be able to perform.

Eligibility

Recipients must be age 60 or older. A NENAAA Care Manager, taking into consideration their functional and financial need, will determine eligibility.

What an In-Home Chore provider can do

Take out trash, change bedding, clean the bathrooms, dust, prepare meals, shop for groceries, ironing, laundry, make beds, scrub floors, vacuum, wash dishes, provide transportation, lawn care and snow removal.

Providers

Are contracted by the client and paid by the client. An In-Home Chore grant will reimburse the client up to the monthly contracted amount. Names of providers will be offered to the client.
