Ombudsman/Advocate Program

The Northeast Nebraska Area Agency on Aging Local Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program strives to protect the rights, dignity, safety, and quality of life of residents residing in long-term care facilities through advocacy, mediation, negotiation, and education. The primary goal of the program is to help residents help themselves. At times however, the Ombudsman will act on behalf of the resident. The local Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program works to improve the quality of life for long-term care facility residents by investigating and working to resolve their concerns as well as increasing the awareness of long-term care issues in the community. The Ombudsmen conduct business in a professional, unbiased, and confidential manner.
